Backyard Makeover!

Michael and Ron have been working ALL weekend in the backyard to make room for a play-set that Alicia and Chris have given us since their girls have outgrown it! Although the babies obviously won't be playing on it for quite some time, the backyard has been on Michael's list of things to do.. and boy does he have some awesome plans!
Over the last week he removed grass over about 1/3 of our backyard where the play-set will go (talk about tough work)! He filled up his entire truck bed with grass he removed... here's the progress Saturday..

On Sunday the dogs had to make sure that they weren't tearing up all of their grass... 

Debbie also came over to keep me company and brought Shelby along. Lily and Paco were sure glad to hang with their buddy and I was happy I wasn't by myself all weekend!

On Sunday, Michael and Ron took most of the day digging down about 6 inches into the dirt in order to make the border of the play area (that will eventually hold wood chips) even with the concrete slab and the grass. I can't believe how much they've gotten done in just 2 days!! Next weekend they'll be at it again. Michael's plan is to have hedges to put up alongside the fence, the BBQ pit to remove (it's not to code and not to mention a hazard for little ones), brick to lay alongside the house/down the side, and trees to plant. WOW...  I'm definitely one happy mommy to have this taken care of now so Michael isn't stressing about working out in the yard when the babies get here- I'll need his help indoors! So for now, I'll try to keep myself busy inside even though I did miss him over the weekend! Thank you boys for all your HARD work!!
