Since we don't have our office completely put together, I've been working on the couch. It's actually working out OK because I can keep my feet up which helps with the swelling, but Lily thinks that it's play time! Usually I will sit on the couch (or floor) and play tug-a-war with her so now that I'm home she thinks it's time to pay attention to her! This little one is crazy... Pretty sure Paco is happy that she's not in his face interrupting his napping.

Taking Matters Into My Own Hands!
We still have a balloon left from my baby shower that hasn't deflated. The other day Michael told me that when it falls that it's a sign it's time for the babies to be here. Well, today as I'm sitting here working, I see the balloon start to float across the room 1/2 way between the ceiling and the floor. I mentioned it to a friend of mine, Melanie, and she told me to take matters into my own hands. Now the balloon is taped to the wall until 37 weeks. :) Thanks Melanie- great idea. Michael will have a good laugh when he sees this!
Kabobs!
Michael is getting SO GOOD at cooking dinner! It really helps with keeping me off my feet. Last night we had kabobs and they were delicious! He has been so amazing and stepping up to the plate! He even gave me a foot rub after dinner after seeing my swollen ankles and sausage toes. Couldn't do it without him! :)

Letters Are Up!
Week 34 Doctor's Appointment
Another appointment down and closer to meeting our little ones! Both babies have plenty of amniotic fluid and are as active as ever. Had our first NSF test (which we will continue to have each week until they arrive). This by far is the most comfortable test I've done this far in the pregnancy. They put you in a nice comfy chair that reclines while they monitor each baby and their heart rate/movements. They put on a monitor for each baby and then one to measure contractions. I had 2 contractions during the test, but both were very mild and I didn't even feel the second one. The babies both passed with flying colors and the tech was surprised with how active they were (maybe a sign of things to come... we'd better brace ourselves)!
All the regular tests are coming back with great results, but as a precaution the doctor is having me work from home the remainder of my pregnancy. It is kind of a relief for me and puts my mind at ease. We want the babies "cooking" as long as possible.
After the NSF test we had our ultrasound and neither baby wanted to give a profile view so no ultrasound photos this week. It was an interesting experience as we had a trainee start the ultrasound. Thankfully our normal tech came in about 5 minutes later in to help and finish the scan. It was good timing because no one told me that I'd have a newbie poking around and I was starting to wonder who this lady was that was checking on my babies.
Another appointment next week!

34 Weeks! WHOO HOO- Another Milestone
We've reached such a critical point in our pregnancy- 34 week mark. Our doctor has told us that if we go into labor at this point, they will do nothing to stop it as twins born during this week usually do not suffer from any long term affects of premature birth. Although this is the case, they'd still have to stay in the NICU if we had them this week. Sooo.... we are holding out as long as we can. Every day they are in my belly is 3 days out of the NICU (or so I read). I will need to remind myself of this a few times this week I fear.
Over the last week, it's been really hard getting around without losing my breath. I'm experiencing quite a bit of pain in my lower back and have had a lot of pressure which really kicks into high gear when I stand up after sitting or laying down. The pressure also makes it near impossible to "roll over" at night. It's become quite a process and now I can feel the babies slide from one side to another which is pretty strange. Braxton hicks have been happening all week as well, now with mild cramping, but nothing that is in a pattern.
They both are getting hiccups on a daily basis and have been very active which are all great things! We really enjoy watching arms/legs/heads/backs/butts poke out of my belly and it's a crazy thought knowing that the only thing that separates us from them is a thin layer of skin. Keep cooking babies! 3 more weeks until full-term and 4 more weeks until our scheduled C-Section.
What's Happening Inside My Body?: Fat layers are filling out each baby. Lungs and nervous systems continue to develop this week and baby boy's testicles have descended into his scrotum (I'm sure he'll love that I've mentioned this later in life). :)
Our Babies Are Each The Size of: A cantaloupe- 18-20 inches long and estimated 5 lbs.

Kerry Park
We really enjoy our little tradition of going to Kerry Park for our anniversary to take photos because this is where we took a majority of our wedding day photos. We had planned to go on our actual anniversary, but again, I was the party pooper and was just TOO TIRED after a full day at work. So instead we waited until this weekend which ended up in our favor. On our actual anniversary it was so stormy outside, but Sunday it was beautiful out! I'm so glad we made it to get our photo!

It was a bit more of a production than some might thing to get those photos!
Friday Night Date Night- Aquafest!
We've been slacking on our date nights which can be mostly blamed on me and my lack of energy, but there was no way I was going to miss out on Aquafest! Every year there is a fun festival right on the lake here in Lake Stevens with vendors, fair food, concerts, and rides.
This year we strolled the food tents and got hand-dipped corn dogs and kettle corn for me! YUM! We are so lucky with how close we are to the lake and the festival... it was less than 1 mile away. We are excited for next year where I won't be as hot and miserable and where we can watch the babies take in all the fun things to see and do!
We found a few fun vendors and ended up getting an awesome children's book that has great illustrations! So excited to read this to the babies and to get the Illustrated Classics for Girls and Illustrated Classics for Boys after we finish this one.

This outing was also the first time during my pregnancy that a total stranger has come up to me and touched my stomach without asking or saying anything to me first. I literally went to take this photo of Michael and all the sudden this lady's hands were on me. WHO DOES THAT?! Michael of course was quick to the draw and told the lady she should have asked first while I stood there in awe that this even happened. This is why he has a pissed off look on his face.. haha.

Backyard Progress
Well another weekend has passed and the backyard is starting to transform! The wood circumference for the play area was secured and yard fabric laid down to shield from weeds/grass growing through. I made a trip with Michael to get the wood chips which was pretty cool! The lady who shoveled the chips into the back of the truck definitely knew what she was doing!
Over the week it was quite rainy, but Michael was out there every day making progress (you can see the puddle in the corner of the play area that Lily decided to jump through earlier that day)
Take a look at the progress; it was definitely worth it!
We still have the swing set to put in and plants for along the fence, but it's shaping up to be a great backyard!

2 Year Wedding Anniversary!
It's hard to believe that it's already been 2 years that we have been married! It honestly feels like just yesterday that we were deciding on a venue, planning our honeymoon and getting fitted for our wedding attire! If this is an indication of how fast the next 2 years are going to go, then expect a LOT more photos and blogging from me because really it is a great way to look back and remember precious moments that tend to go much too quickly.
To my husband: Thank you for supporting me through everything (good and bad), being the shoulder I can cry on, my best friend that I laugh with, and the person that I can talk to about anything. I'm very excited for our future and so proud of how far we've come as a couple. I love you so very much!
