Maui Day 3- A Family Day

Something really special about vacation for us is all the time we get to spend with our kids. We are blessed to have amazing jobs, but being full time working parents we often feel like we miss out on a large portion of our kids experiences.

So, in Maui we wanted to make a point to spend some overdue time together just the four of us. It was really nice to go off and find different beaches we haven't been to and we even drove part of the road to Hana. We had planned on doing the whole thing, but Hailey said her tummy was hurting pretty quickly after we got on the road so it was not worth it for us. BUT we did make a fun stop and got coconuts (on mommy's list of things to do this trip) and saw some bamboo trees and a waterfall!

First stop- Napili Beach

LOVED this beach. The sand was amazing, there was plenty of shade and not too many people!

And there's the tongue again...

Next Stop: The Road to Hana

Luckily Michael and I have experienced this adventure before we had kids so we didn't feel the need to do the entire thing. We were quick to forget how dangerous these roads really are.

But look at that view!! It literally turns into a jungle as soon as you are on the road.. it's crazy

We stopped at the Twin Falls lookout on the way back off the road. It's a nice easy walk for the kids to get to the falls (until you actually get to them then you have to climb down a steep hill- which we didn't do). Hunter was so amazed with the plants and the sound of the waterfall.

The coconut stand was pretty awesome because they let you pick any one you want. Hunter picked a smaller one.. and here I was thinking they'd share. NOPE! So Hailey ended up taking mine which was almost as big as her!

I was able to get a quick sip before Hailey stole it from me.. YUM!

After a long drive back, we stopped for some lunch at Aloha Mixed Plate. Awesome day for food and adventure!
