Sleep (both): They are both now sleeping in their cribs almost all night after a grueling battle of trying to let them self-soothe. That was pretty rough on both Michael and I and he even had to console me night 2 on the stairs after I started crying and thinking what a horrible mother I was! But tonight, night 5 with both kids asleep in their cribs just shy of 8pm, I'm feeling pretty good. They are learning what positions make them comfortable which is quite amusing to watch on the monitors. Hunter spreads himself out and uses almost every square inch of his crib while Hailey is now sleeping on her stomach (with protesting from both myself and her father). It goes against everything they've told you (BACK IS BEST), but at this age apparently it's ok.
Besides their new sleep habits, this is what's up with our little ones:
Hunter
Personality: Hunter has become quite the blabber mouth lately! He really has a lot to say and will let you know if he doesn't like something. He is doing a lot of 'bababa's' and 'dadada's'.. enough so that it seems he knows what Dada really means. It's ok, I only carried you for 9 months... mama is not in his vocabulary yet. I'll be patient. Besides talking up a storm, he is such a funny kid to watch! He really likes to play in his jumper and when he plays with anything he is just a tornado wacking his hands and kicking his feet against everything! All the sudden he's a pro at sitting up and rolling over as if he's been doing it for years.
Food: Nothing here has changed. He still loves most foods with the exception of anything too sour or tart.
Teeth: Hunter has 2 more teeth coming in! He's got his two bottoms, but also 2 more top teeth poking through!
Hailey
Personality: Hailey is still pretty reserved and very careful. She doesn't really like the more 'rough' games that Hunter seems to enjoy. She still loves a lot of attention and has seemed to get upset if either of us show too much attention to Hunter or when we leave the room. Apparently this is a milestone.... a hard one when we drop them off in the mornings at daycare. She has been doing what we call a 'tarzana' call when she is feeling in the mood to be heard and it's amazing the pitches she can reach! It's pretty cute..
Food: Hailey also hasn't changed much when it comes to food. Anything with banana in it, she will eat though!
Teeth: Hailey still just has her two bottom teeth. I peeked today and don't see any others on the top yet, but I suspect we should see them soon if she wants to keep up with Hunter.
These two love being together and have even started communicating with one another and even kissing each other!
