27 Weeks- End of 2nd Trimester

So, mixed comments online.... some sites say this is the beginning of the 3rd trimester and some say the end of the 2nd. Either way, the day is getting closer and closer!
Over the last week I've definitely noticed changes. I've obviously gotten bigger, but nothing as noticeable as the last few weeks. However, I found that I need to really stay on top of drinking water after I got a HORRIBLE leg cramp. I've read about these in the weekly baby center updates I receive, but I never in a million years would've thought it'd be that painful! I had laid down in bed and then got a very sharp pain in my leg and found it really hard to stretch it out. I screamed at Michael to come over to my side of the bed to rub my leg and he is just laughing at me! I guess looking back it would've been pretty funny to see me and my big belly shoot straight up out of bed and scream OUCH MY LEG!!!! while hopping on the other leg. He got it together and came over to rub my leg (which i can barely reach at this point) and a few minutes later it was gone. Let's just say I've been stretching my leg much more since that happened in hopes it will not happen again. Fingers crossed.
Besides that fun fiasco, I'm feeling great. Still moving around and trying to walk as much as I can. I do notice that as each week progresses, I get tired more easily. I've said this of course in weeks past, but this is another type of tired that is hard to explain. Pretty sure I could lay in bed all day and still be too lazy to get up and accomplish anything. Oh well, I suppose I'd better get used to it with 2 babies coming and long nights ahead.
The babies have definitely been rolling around in there and kicking mommy.... this must be where all my energy has gone. It's fun to look down and see my belly squirming and to see what looks like little arms and legs moving across from one side to another. I can pretty much tell who is who which is nice, but I don't expect that to last much longer the bigger they get. I found this really awesome photo online and I definitely had an 'oh yeah' moment:

10 weeks until the twins are full term... WOW.... let the panic / excitement set in! The only thing I can compare this feeling to is right before you are about to go on the scariest roller coaster of your life... you know, when they are buckling you in and you are wondering how you even got here- freaked out yet lots of adrenaline knowing you are about to experience something unlike anything you've ever dreamed of!

Your Baby:
  • Hey! Remember when I told you your baby was as big as a gummy bear? Oh, about 19 or 20 weeks ago?
  • Now imagine a two-pound, 15-inch-long gummy bear. Yep.
  • Eyelids (which have been fused since 11 or 12 weeks) can now open and close.
You:
  • Are officially in the third trimester! Feel free to celebrate/panic at will.
  • May notice more of that pesky round ligament pain as your belly gets harder and bigger and rounder, or as it starts to dip down a little bit, looking a little less perky and cute than it did a few weeks ago.
  • Depending on your baby’s position, the kicks and movements might be a little painful. Feet up under your ribcage, jabs to the cervix, random body parts of mystery poking you way off to the side, where you didn’t even think those little appendages were long enough to reach.
