Do You See What I See?

We finally had our first appointment with Dr. Morell at Evergreen Hospital in Totem Lake where we plan to have our baby. Since the dogs have been staying at Michael's parents house while our house has had multiple showings, we decided to stay the night there. This gave us a quick and easy drive in the morning so I could get some extra Zzz's. Whelp, on the way to the doctor's office, I noticed I had changed purses and forgotten my ID at home 20 minutes away (40 minutes in the early morning traffic)! How could I be such a dummy?! We decided it would be best that Michael run home to get it while I proceed to fill out paperwork and get checked in.

After a half hour of paperwork, I was starting to worry that he wouldn't make it on time. Then, right in the nick of time, he walks through the door as they called us back to the room.

The doctor was so nice and even remembered Michael since his kids went to school with him. It definitely helped ease some of the butterflies that were in my stomach (or could that have been that infamous morning sickness??). At any rate, the appointment went smoothly and after the poking and prodding, it was finally time to see the baby on an ultrasound! We both could barely hold in our excitement to see the baby and hear the heartbeat.

It was the most amazing thing I could ever describe.. and before I could wrap my head around the pure joy, the doctor looks and me and says, "Do you see what I see?" Instantly my heart dropped to my stomach and my hand squeezed Michael's even tighter afraid to hear what he was going to say next... was something wrong with our baby? There's no way he could see the sex yet... and then he said three words that will forever be imprinted in both of our memories..."You're having twins!"

WHAT?! Are you SURE? Is this a mistake?! We were just getting starting to get used to this whole, we are going to be parents thing and now you are telling us we are having 2?! I instantly broke into tears... the shock and delight of that moment was so overwhelming for us both that we left the office still in pure amazement. Not sure what to say or do or think... except that this changes EVERYTHING! We couldn't be more ecstatic about the double blessing that has entered our lives!

What's Happening in My Body: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl.

Our BABIES are the size of:  Raspberries
