Last Week at Daycare

The kids are definitely growing into their own people. Amy, the girl at daycare who has helped with our kids since 6 weeks old (wow), tells us that Hunter & Hailey are both super outgoing while at school. Hunter is the chatty one while Hailey will sit and play quietly with her friends.

A typical day for them starts off with us dropping the kids off at 6am in the toddler house. Then at 7am, Amy walks them over to the 'Young Pre-K' area where they do crafts and have playtime. At 9am is when Pre-K starts (the class Amy teaches now) and the kids go over to the Young Pre-K class. Hunter lately has not wanted to leave Amy so he will stay with the older kids for a bit. Hailey doesn't mind at all and will go along to the younger class.
In the younger class each week they learn a new letter, number and shape. Their arts and crafts typically have to do with the theme of the week. Then every third Wednesday of the month, they have show and tell! Pretty crazy to think these kids are almost 3 and will start in Pre-K before we know it!

Every morning after we drop the kids off they wave goodbye! It's the cutest thing and their friend Emit joins them.

The kids are definitely learning a lot from daycare.. and unfortunately some of it is not good. Hunter and Mommy / Daddy have had a lot of talks about the way we play with toys and how we don't punch. Since they are around bigger kids all day they are picking up some of the bad habits. We've had to have some difficult talks already because some of the kids will pretend to be playing with guns. Hunter will go around the house pretending everything is one... I guess better to talk about it now while they are still young. Of course they don't understand all we're saying, but they know we don't like them doing it. So we've been super careful at home to be sure that we're watching how they're playing and to keep things out of the house like nerf toys and waterguns. For now at least until he understands more.
