Terrible 2's Strike Again

Two 2yr olds come with a lot of fun, but also a lot of headaches. We keep telling ourselves one more year of this phase...
Hunter has whining down for just about everything he 'wants' while Hailey has outbursts of HUGE tantrums. I don't know which is worse... consistency or big meltdowns. Guess it doesn't matter because we are blessed with one of each.

Sleep has become a bit more difficult lately. Hunter is still a wonderful sleeper (knock on wood!!), but Hailey is still having bad dreams and wakes up every morning at 2am crying for me. Usually I can get her to calm down by rubbing her back, but fairly often she ends up in our bed or me in hers.

This morning we were both up at 2am and didn't get back to sleep. Then after no sleep for us, Hailey had one of her meltdowns. I told her it's because she didn't sleep and doesn't go to bed right away. Instead she lays awake getting up and down and asking for either water, a stuffed animal, different color stars or a different blanket... anything to stay up!

Meanwhile, Hunter kept telling Hailey to 'take a breath' and 'use your words, Hailey' ..
Thanks for the assistance Hunt!

Mother's Day

I had such a wonderful Mother's Day thanks to my beautiful family!! Saturday night Michael took me on a date while the kids were at home playing with Amy from daycare. We had a really yummy sushi dinner and headed home early to relax and watch a movie.

Sunday morning I was treated to a nice bottle of champagne, beautiful flowers and later in the evening a feast of king crab and NY steak!! Yummm

To start the day off we headed to Flower World. We had been talking about our planter boxes for a few weeks so that's what I picked to do for my day!

Sure, lay in the walkway to read the map. No problem..

The kids LOVED the baby chicks .. they were adorable!

Mommy really liked the little baby sheep... too cute!

I sure am blessed with two amazing kids!!

After flower world, we headed home and got all of our veggies and flowers planted! I'm super excited that Michael found Habaneros!! We've also got peppers, strawberries, butter lettuce, and cucumber.
While I potted all the plants, Michael re-barked the backyard. We are ready for good weather and BBQ's!!

We had such a yummy dinner and Hunter opted for Applesauce.. really?!

As if my awesome day was not enough, Michael and I decided that our Mother's Day gift and his Birthday gift would be combined. So, we ended up getting a new table for our informal dinning area. The area has been empty to let the kids have more room to run around, but we decided it is time we had a table there.

Unfortunately UPS lost the table top so we didn't get started putting it together until Monday night. 3 more chairs to build !

Spring Cleaning

We've started in on some spring cleaning and found the portable cribs that the kids used to sleep in while in our bed. I couldn't help but laugh super hard that they were trying to get in it and the resemblance of  photos from when they were just born... Hunter got in first then I showed Hailey and Hunter the picture and they both decided on their own to climb in.

The result? A hilarious string of photos..

The original

And the attempt of the kids to both fit in the portable crib.. HAHA!!!

Cinco de May Carnival

Evergreen State Fairgrounds had a Cinco de Mayo Festival which had some smaller rides perfect for the kids to ride. They both are exactly 36'' so it was cool to finally get them on some rides to see how they like them. They both loved the cars that went in circles and the fun house.. at least until Hunter saw his reflection in a curvy mirror.. lol.

One of the highlights for the kids was seeing all the horses.

Hunter was SO funny on the cars. While Hailey was turning her wheel and really 'driving', Hunter had this look on his face that was making Mommy and Daddy laugh so hard. It's worth opening this to make it larger... he's pretending not to smile but is having so much fun he can't contain himself.. lol

Daddy even won Mommy a stuffed animal!

Hailey wanted to go again on the car ride, but Hunter didn't... so what did he do? He cheered Hailey on from the sidelines!! It was adorable to hear him say- GO HAILEY!!

In the fun house, everything was going great...

Until the mirror...

Poor little man!
Glad we got the kids to get on the rides and makes us super excited for Disneyland later this year!!
