It had been a long few weeks between work, the kids and all the other 'to-do's' life throws at you, so we had a little BBQ and Fire pit night! Everything was set.. we had a great meal ready to eat, a few cold beers, a fire... and then it happened! Michael picked up the lid on the fire pit not thinking and completely burnt off the tips of his pointer and thumb fingers! He's OK, but was in a ton of pain!
Nurse Sarah was on call and I read that tea bags actually extract some sort of toxic acid from your body when you are burnt. So, I put a few on his fingers and wrapped it up (OK, it wasn't a great wrap job) and it actually worked to numb the pain!
