Happy New Year!

Wishing you and your family a happy, healthy and exciting New Year!!

Back to School for Mommy!

Getting pretty excited to start back up with school! I am about halfway to my BA, but going to start off slow with one course. I don't want to overdue it and become overwhelmed with everything else in life! My first course will be Business Statistics and next will be Calculus for Business and Econ. Excited to start the new year off right and get back on track to complete this goal of mine!! WSU Global Campus was even ranked #1 in the state! Pretty awesome article for my Husky family members :) : http://wsu-online.blogspot.com/2014/11/wsu-global-campus-ranked-1-in-state.html

In the end, the group said, “It’s hard to write about Washington State University’s performance without lapsing into superlatives. They are above average in every metric, and their reputation is recognized by all three of our outside rankings. They finish #1 in the state in a broad set of categories, including graduation and retention rates. They finished at the top of our list for a reason: they’re the best in the state.”

4-Month Check-Up

Hunter and Hailey had their 4 month check-up with Dr. Vijay the other day! All is going great with both babies. Their belly buttons have started to close up the more their abdominal muscles are strengthening. Hailey has a slight flat area on the back of her head, so more tummy time for the little Missy! Hunter's leg creases on the back of his legs are slightly off, so the doctor is going to keep an eye on that. It can be a sign that his hips are slightly out of alignment, but nothing serious! We have to go in again just to have Hailey's hips x-rayed which is a standard practice for girls who in the womb have their legs up in the chest like Hailey did.

Hunter
Weight: 15 lbs 11 ounces
Percentile: 56th percentile for boys
Length: 24.4 inches

Hailey
Weight: 15 lbs 2.5 ounces
Percentile: 70th percentile for girls
Length: 24.4 inches

After their check-ups they had to have some more shots. Everytime their cries get me... it's such a sad cry!! Hunter actually did very good. He cried only for about a minute and then was fine. Hailey proceeded to cry all the way home, poor girl. She was definitely ready for some mommy snuggles once we got home.

First "Solid" Food Experience

Hunter and Hailey both had rice cereal for the first time the other day! To get them used to moving food to the back of their mouths you make the cereal super watery at first. It was SO cute watching them get it all over their faces and play with it in their fingers. They both actually ate some too. We are hoping that a little bit of substance in Hunter's belly will help him from spitting up so much.

More Christmas Photos

Thanks to Alicia for taking awesome photos on Christmas Day!  :)

Hailey + Hunter Are 4 Months Old

These two cutie pies are now 4 months old! These last few weeks have really been a lot of fun with their personalities shining through, the endless smiles and their cute language they have with one another. Their interactions with each other is very entertaining. There are times that each of them will look at the other and just stare into their eyes while the other pretends like they aren't paying attention.. maybe they aren't, but it is really cute! They like to hold one another's hands and even steal one another's toys... oh yep that has started already!
Hailey is very much in tune with emotions and if you are upset, she gets upset. She loves to look into your eyes when you feed her and now is even wanting to hold her own bottle. She will pull the bottle into her mouth and then take it out on her own. She also will push away the bottle if she is full. She really likes to sit up and enjoys the new view she has from that angle. If she is propped up on the pillow, she will use her ab muscles to sit herself all the way up and smiles as if she is so proud of herself! Hailey has been sleeping in her crib at night and is fairly easy to get to sleep. She will sleep from about 7pm to 11:30 (sometimes until after midnight on a good night) in her crib before she will wake up requesting a bottle. The good news is that she can actually sleep in the crib and not in her cradle like her brother.
Hunter is such a smiley baby. When you make funny faces at him he will laugh and give the biggest baby smile! He also likes to hold his bottle on his own, but he gets fancy with it by holding onto the end acting like he's hot stuff. He has been sleeping in his cradle in his own room. He usually will sleep from 7pm until 4:30 A.M. when we get up for work. Of course we don't get to sleep in on the weekends and we have to remind ourselves that it is good they wake up that early to stay on their schedule. Hunter has slept 5 days in a row all night like this. To get him to sleep he has to be rocked, shhh'd and patted on the bum or else he will scream! It's amazing the lungs this kid has. Hunter is also good at sitting up and enjoys seeing what mommy and daddy are up to.
Both babies also love to watch their Disney movies. In afternoon we will put on a movie for them and they really sit there and watch it! Hailey will even cry at the sad or scary parts while Hunter coo's during the action! Their favorites include Madagascar, Tangled and Tarzan! Those movies come on and they will sit there for almost the full movie to watch it.

The Twins Have Their License to Drive..

Watch out! As soon as these two can, they will be cruisin'!

What Are You Doing?

Seriously... what is she doing? Hailey all the sudden loves to throw her arms up in the air when she is sitting up. It is so funny!!

Hey you....

Come at me!

No, seriously, I will kick your butt..

I'm just kidding, I'm a sweet princess.

Baby's First Christmas

Like clockwork, the babies woke up on Christmas morning at 4:30 A.M. We headed downstairs after feeding the babies and started opening gifts. Hailey wore her new hat for most of the morning. Once I put it on her she was being so silly... as if she knew how cute she looked. Hunter really wasn't sure about the whole present thing, but he sure loved the wrapping paper! They both sat in their bumbos for most of the time so they could see what was going on and so we had hands to un-wrap everything.

Grandma and Grandpa joined the festivities a bit later too!

After the present opening, we all got ready and headed to Aunt Alicia's (more photos to come since we took the bulk of them on Alicia's camera). The babies had a long morning and Hunter decided it was time to nap most of the morning, but did wake up while we opened presents.

Normally after Christmas with Michael's family we head to see mine, but my sister was sick this year so we have postponed our Christmas celebration for when she is better! We can't have sick babies ... especially after they both got over a cold just a few weeks ago. Papa did stop by though and saw the babies! He brought them new Wubbles (the pacifiers with the animals attached) and some much needed formula and diapers! Hunter was in a mood right when Papa got to our house so I was pre-occupied trying to get him calmed down and didn't get photos. Looking forward to our family celebration to tie up the holidays!
