Let's Walk!

So far our trick to keep the kids up past their bedtime has worked! We have been taking walks right around their old bedtime and they are really enjoying it! There have been a few meltdowns right before we put them down but so far so good... now we just hope it helps for their Little Gym class this week.

Animal Squishies!

Daddy found some fun animal pillows at Costco and the kids were SO silly with them once we got home. They kept falling into them and Hunter just lounged and rolled all over his. Good pick Daddy!

And there were some kisses shared too!

Finger Painting

We got our crafts out and did a little finger painting over the weekend! We had a bit of an issue with Hunter wanting to eat the paint, but luckily he only got it on his nose before he realized how cool it looks when you spread the paint on the paper. Hailey went nuts with the paint and even started painting her highchair. The clean-up was intense but it was worth it!

Fridge worthy artwork!

Kicking Off the Season...

...  with our first pumpkin patch! It's mommy's favorite time of year and we have several fall activities on the list. This weekend we headed to Craven Farm and were joined by family! The kids had a good time riding in the wagon with their cousins and even went stomping through the mud to help find pumpkins. We had to pass on the corn maze.. the kids were just about ready to take a nap and kept playing the 'I want up', 'No, i want down' game. So we headed out. Still a fun trip and glad to have met up with everyone!

Grandma, I saw a pumpkin and it was THIS big!

And it's almost impossible to get 5 kids to look at the camera! Still adorable!

I want to walk daddy!

A little auntie time

MELTDOWNS!

Ever since these two have turned one, it's like a switch flipped. They now are perfectly aware of how to throw a tantrum. We headed for our Little Gym class on Thursday night and before the class we hang out and play Legos. Once it was our turn to go into the gym, Hailey gave her daddy BIG ole crocodile tears because he made her put the Lego away.

As we proceeded into the gym, Hunter decided he did not want to be put down (which the entire point is that they are active in class). He would scream and try to flip himself out of both of our arms. So mommy and daddy took turns with him until Daddy caved in and went to get him a bottle and fed him in the viewing area. I stayed in class with Hailey, but she was just as fussy! What is going on?!

So, I had to excuse us from the class and we took them home. Of course the moment they were in the truck the tears were gone and they were as silent as little mice all the way home (wide awake mind you, after their normal bedtime).

Daycare doesn't give them regular naps in the afternoon which is what we suspect happened here. Add in over stimulation after bedtime and it is a recipe for disaster! So, I think it's time we move their bedtime to 6-6:30pm that way we can give them a nap in the afternoon once we pick them up! They've both been waking up about a half hour early in the mornings anyway so we are thinking this slight change will help kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Fingers crossed the transition happens smoothly. Usually they are ready for a bottle and bed right at 5, but with them in daycare we can't control their schedule no matter how much we ask them to follow it. There is too much going on while they are there and no quiet place to take a nap. I don't blame them.. if i were put down for a nap while my friends were playing in the same room I wouldn't nap either.

These Two Like Lemons?

Not quite sure what happened the other night when we all went out to dinner as a family. I gave Hailey a lemon to calm her down (and expected a silly sour face), but she kept eating it! I was so shocked, I gave it to Hunter and he was eating it... what?! You two are silly.

Someone Found the TP

Well, I thought it was just Leo that liked to play with the toilet paper but now that one of our little ones is walking, she found it and LOVED pulling it all off the roll. Guess we'd better re-asses the house and figure out what they can reach now!

Giggle Jungle

We tried out the Giggle Jungle in Redmond last weekend and were a bit disappointed. The website had stated it was a play area for younger kids under the age of Kindergarten. Well, we got there and the town center was having a little festival and so it brought a bit of an older kid crowd in.
It was chaos! There were older kids jumping around and not looking out for the little ones. We played in a smaller crawl area that was in the corner and not very exciting so we left after a short time of play.
The kids did enjoy the stuff they had there, but it was too dangerous with the older kids.
