We are so proud of our baby girl!! She's finally rolled over! I must admit that I was really heart broken to find out she did it for the first time at daycare and that I had missed it. I told Michael in tears after a long week at work and dealing with all the hard parts of parenthood, those moments are the ones that get you through. He immediately told me to put her on the ground to see if we could experience it, and she did it for us! It definitely made me feel better after I saw her turn herself over! I made her do it a few times to make sure it wasn't a fluke, and she did it every time! I was able to get a video of her doing it, but by that time she was tired so a bit cranky in the beginning of the video, but at least I caught it!
Hunter is still working on it and actually rolled over on the bed later that night... but that's kind of cheating since it's a softer surface. We'll have to keep working on it with him!
Video of Hailey Rolling Over (she cries pretty loudly, so might want to turn down your volume):
We had an eventful night the other night with Lily. She went outside to run around for a while and came back in covered in hives all over her body! Mommy gave her some allergy medicine and and we stayed up worried of course. Grandma took her into the vet for us the next morning while we headed to work, but they didn't have an appointment available until that afternoon. So, grandpa was nice enough to bring the doggies back up to Lake Stevens Veterinary Clinic for Lily to get checked out. She got some medicine for her scratches that she inflicted on herself from itching too hard and we were told to keep up on her allergy medicine for a few days. They think they heard a heart murmur so we are going to have to go back in 2-3 months down the road for her to get checked again. Hoping it was only because of the allergic reaction and isn't something serious...
After Grandpa dropped off Lily, he came by to see Hailey and Hunter and even took over feeding duty for mommy! I was able to make daddy some soup to soothe his sore throat that he undoubtedly got from me. :(
We spent our Sunday afternoon watching the babies try to sit up on their own! It was so entertaining and Hunter even bit it at one point!! They love sitting up so they can see everything that is happening. Hunter lounges like his daddy and loves any type of ball... he looks like he's going to be a good aim!
Well I suppose we should just get used to everything coming in two's! Hailey now has pink eye from her brother despite our consistent hand washing and trying to separate their toys and blankets. Michael picked them up from daycare yesterday and when I got home shortly after him, he was already on the phone ordering some ointment for her eye. Thankfully we didn't have to go into the doctors again! Her eye was completely swollen and way worse than what Hunter's seemed to be a few days ago. Then we noticed her other eye starting to show the same symptoms. So, now both babies are screaming 4x a day when we put the cream in their eyes... I will be happy once our entire house is healthy! Both myself and Michael just got over a flu too... really hoping we didn't give that to the kiddos. They deserve a little break from being sick. Safe to say this weekend will be full of sanitizing EVERYTHING and a ton of laundry...
We are LOVING the nice weather that we've been having and are getting out for afternoon walks with the babies! We like to walk around the high school then down a few blocks to the elementary school. There is a fun little play area that will be perfect when the kids get a little older, but for now we are enjoying some mommy/daddy time while the babies look around and eventually fall asleep! Nice change from the car rides that normally are the only thing that put these two to sleep!
We went and had our portraits done around the babies 5 month birthday and got some really cute images! Both Hailey and Hunter were smiling for the camera and were so good snuggling up to one another! I think the photographer did an amazing job capturing their sweet personalities..
Poor Hunter... We had to go into the walk in (again) on Saturday night because we noticed Hunter had green stuff coming out of his right eye. Well I knew exactly what it was because pink eye was going around daycare. So, we spent our Valentines night in a waiting room. Thankfully it was rather quick and we even got to the pharmacy before they closed. Never a dull moment and sure different than our previous Valentine's nights in the past. Just glad that we got it taken care of and he is on the mend. Nothing else to do but be glad it isn't anything serious!!
Family selfie in the doctor's office! Hailey is NOT happy!
We love laying on the floor and playing with Hailey and Hunter. They are so much fun to just watch while they analyze everything! Hunter loves to look at his hands and Hailey is interested in things that make funny sounds. Once they are done on their backs and want to sit up, they will let you know! You just have to watch out for Hunter... he likes to cover his entire face with his blanket... we've had a few talks on this, but the kid just loves to put everything in his mouth! Don't turn around for too long... ;)
