35 Weeks Pregnant

The past week has been full of naps and not sleeping at night for more than an hour at a time. I find myself waking up hoping it is time to get up for the day (weird, I know). I get so restless just working on trying to get back to sleep that the nights are just as hard as the days- maybe even more so because of how hard it is to go from a laying position to getting up to use the restroom. During my lunch breaks from work during the week, I've been taking naps and setting my alarm for a quick half-an-hour recharge.

I find it hard to go anywhere without someone asking when I'm due. The only thing I can compare it to is when you get a new puppy and everyone stops to say how cute they are and ask a million questions. Strangers have not 'assumed' it's twins - they all just think I'm way past my due date and "gonna have the baby any second!" I of course feel compelled to reply back and say that there are 2 in there in hopes they'll stop commenting on how big I am. I've learned that only adds fuel to the questions which I don't have the energy to answer to the 7 different people who ask as I'm running into Safeway for something small. Time to hibernate.

What's Happening in My Body?: There isn't much room for the babies to maneuver now, but they are still as active as ever. Their kidneys are fully developed and their livers can process some waste now. Most of their basic development is complete and these last few weeks they will be putting on weight.

The Babies Are Each the Size of: A Honeydew Melon- estimated 20 inches long and 5.5 lbs
